Water offers unique properties for healing and balance.
We begin the class setting up the intention for ourselves, the ocean and all beings. Today we focused on Balance.
When we sit on the paddle board, feeling the water moving slowly below us, we observe the sensation in our hips and base. We notice how those subtle rocking movements create a slight relief all along the spine. We keep the spine elongated while flexible and open to the flow.
We observe the breath, it’s rhythm, it’s depth, if the inhale is longer or shorter than the exhalation. From this point of awareness and with the intention of balance, we gently invite the breath to a more balanced rhythm and depth.
Bringing mindfulness with positive intention adds integrity and more fulfillment through the whole experience.
Standing, we place the feet on both sides of the handle which is the center of gravity of the board. The movement of the water makes the experience of standing more challenging than being on a settled ground. If there is more weight on one leg or if you experience a hip mis-alignent, you will notice it clearly in the way the board move. This affects your balance and requires attention for centering.
If you like to experience those sensations and explore a new form of balance. Contact us for a class or immersion.
